We had 3 baseball games this week, one of them to make up for one of the canceled ones last week. My son’s team won all 3 of them, by at least 5 runs in each. He even got a hit in one, and was walked in another, then stole a couple bases and made it home.
I was a bit scattered with my plans earlier in the week, but I’ve settled into working on a plotting, writing, editing, and publishing stage project(if there’s anything in the first and last category), and I’m going to try to see the same project all the way through a stage. Hopefully, I can stick with that.
Writing
As I said, my plans were a bit scattered early in the week, working on several different projects. I settled down part way through, though and ended up working on 3 projects.
Jax of All Trade 4
I finished writing out summaries of the suspects for this and a short, medium, and long summary. And I wrote out notes for the outline. These aren’t set in stone, especially as I still have to edit book 3 and that may change some things in the next book. Plus, I tend to figure things out as I start to write that may not have been clear as I was plotting. Like who the killer actually is. Um, I mean, of course *I* know who the killer is(um, maybe. 😆)
Here You Come Again
I wrote 2071 words on this. It doesn’t feel like a lot of progress, but I am getting closer.
I kept thinking I'd changed from the mess I'd been at nineteen, and then I went and started acting just like I had back then.
Slanting Sunlight
I’ve added 1812 words to this. And I went through and marked the other places where I want to flesh out the original story a bit more. Actually develop the relationship instead of the way I just jumped into it.
Sometimes when Bree and Jenny were sitting on the couch next to each other, just a few inches between them. Those times when Jenny wanted to reach over and twine their fingers together. Or slide her hand over Bree's knee.
If only she had just a little more courage.
Reading
Something Wild and Wonderful
Anita Kelly is definitely becoming an autobuy(or in this case, auto-put-on-library-hold). And auto as in ‘as soon as I see it’s out’ because I’m very bad at keeping up with release dates. I didn’t realize this was connected to Love and Other Disasters(which I absolutely loved), although it wasn’t a tight connection(one of the main characters is friends with the sister of one of the characters from the first book, and they do make an appearance later in this book). I just really liked this. Even when I was like, “nooo, don’t do that” it was because I was deeply invested in these characters. I definitely can’t wait until the next book comes out.
Crafting
I finished this design early this week. It’s one I made myself, just having to find a font to use. In the original font, the hearts are all red. I decided to do something a little different with it. I should have started it over a little farther, though. It came a little close to the edge.
Story
I have another Whole Latte Love Shots this week.
"One Cinnamon Whistle, coming right up."
Juliane laughed. "I do like the names you come up with for these, Tiso."
I grinned at zir. "It gives me great joy to know it brightens your day."
"The sunshine brightens my day, you just add to it."
"Let me guess, you're going for a hike."
"As long as the weather remains nice, I'll get them in while I can."
"I do not understand you. At all. There's too much outside out there. And I may come face-to-face with my old nemesis, physics, if I tried to climb a hill. Let alone those mountains you take on."
"They are hardly mountains," Juliane argued.
"Physics is not anyone's enemy."
I glanced past Juliane and grinned at the next customer in line. "Oh, Bri, to be so disillusioned about the true nefariousness of the sciences."
Juli snickered behind zir hand, but Bri narrowed eir eyes at me as if ey didn't realize I was joking around with em. I decided to head that off at the pass. They both had better things to be doing than arguing with me over the purpose and worthiness of the sciences. I had a feeling they'd get more enjoyment out of a debate over that together. They just needed a little nudge.
"Bri likes to take walks in those woods, too," I told Juli. "Maybe ey could join you."
"I don't just walk," Juli said. "A hike is more than just a walk."
"I've been hiking," Bri said, sounding a bit put out. "I'm up on those trails all the time."
"Then, it sounds like the two of you should go out there together. Since it was in both your plans anyway."
Bri gave me a look, like ey knew what I was up to. Then, ey glanced at Juli. "I don't have a problem with company if you don't."
"Not if you can keep up," Juli said and grabbing zir cup, headed for the door.
It didn't take me long to send Bri off with eir cup of regular coffee, which ey wouldn't even doctor up at all. Well, they did say opposites attract. And if that was in fact true, this would be another job well done.
I guess only time would tell. Like the next time they came into the coffee shop.
Hopefully together.
I’d like to share things people actually want to read, so I might include polls in the next few updates to get an idea of what that is. So, here is the first one:
